EOTD: October 6, 2009

So on Tuesday October 6, I decided to pull out my Sacha's neutral palette and start using it again... I will post pics of the palette asap and show swatches and give a review.  My friend and co-makeup junkie Nikkita :) http://makeupbynikitam.blogspot.com/ also plans on doing a review on this palette so you guys look out for the two reviews... but this is the look i got.. again please excuse my eyebrows.. i'm really playing around with it, growing it .. waxing.. growing.., because i have not found a "style" that i would love to keep.. so until then i have to keep growing it out and trying again.. so anyways off to the look :)

Let me know what you think...

All colors used can be found in the 14 pan palette

EOTD: last friday October 2, 2009

know the title sounds confusing to the sense that it says Eye of the day :) well this look that i'm sharing was a  look I did last friday, i got sooooooooo many compliments that when I reached home i decided to take pics... which was like 5-6 hours after application.  I basically used pigments i bought online from ebay [you can view that haul and see swatches of the pigments here: http://sweetzrv.blogspot.com/2009/07/swatches-of-ebay-pigments.html ]  I did not pay much for these pigments, but I was really impressed with their quality. this is the look i got.. i used my regular mascara from maybelline and my black ultra liner from avon.

EOTD: smokey blue...

So this is my first attempt at a smokey look.  To be honest i always felt that  the smokey look did not look good on me.  I felt i looked like someone punched me in the eye :)  however this is my attempt.  I used many colors from my novel twist cool palette

At first i felt like I was not getting anywhere..since I never did a smokey eye before I was rather apprehensive... but this was what i ended up with.. one of my major challenges was on how dark to go.. i did not a too smoked out eye :) please let me know what you think... also I took the pics like 4 hours after I applied.. so excuse the rest of my face i was really tired...

EOTD: Neutral eyes

So I decided that since work in just a week away, I would start practicing some neutral looks since this summer i focused on doing only bold colors... I mainly used nyx shadows.

Products used:
  • Mac rubenesque paint pot

  • nyx single shadow [nss] es 117 chai all over my lid

  • nss es 107 vanilla sky inner 1/3 of my eyes

  • nss 114 oro on 2/3 going a bit into the other third of my lid

  • nss es 110 gypsy in the crease

  • nss es 105 to deepen the crease

  • nss es119 cream cheese as highlighter

  • La colors liquid liner in brown

  • avon luxury liner in dark brown

  • maybelline collosal mascara in black

I was very pleased with the result... i got a lot of compliments which surprised me, everyone kept saying how simple and natural the look was.. so i'm definitely pleased with how it came out. will try to do some more looks.. please comment and let me know what u think...

EOTD: Tknokitten's Professional Look Makeup Tutorial

So Tony aka Tknokitten [ http://twitter.com/tknokitten ; http://www.youtube.com/user/tknokitten ] did a makeup tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTYZd9qk6l8 and posted it yesterday [monday july 20, 2009] on youtube... i thought it looked really simple, easy and something i could do on a daily basis. what i liked the best is that the look is very versatile.. definitely going to try other variations with it.. like how dark i will make the crease or what shade of beige or brown shadow i will use on my lid... Unlike Tknokitten, i did not use mac i used nyx for this look... will post what was used tomm [hopefully :)]
tknokitten, :)thanks again for sharing this look with us..... this is my twist.. [plz excuse the eyebrows.. growing them out to shape again.. ..]

Brick and Lime eyeshadow look

So i tried this look out a few sunday's ago and decided i'll post the look. I wore a simple shalwar which had red, green and brown on it. this is the look i came up with. I can't remember the name of the colors used but they were all nyx shadows..

Eye of the Day....

so yesterday i decided to take the kids to see X-Men: Wolverine can't remember the full name... i hadn't done much eye makeup recently so i decided to play aroun... i used mac's melon and old gold on the lid..i used the darkest green from an elf's quad [ivy] in the crease and the light green from that same quad as highlighter. I lined with Avon's luxury liner in dark brown. i decided to try the elf's quad because i saw a few youtube gurus say that they aren't that bad and so i thought i'll try it myself. honestly the staying power wasn't bad at all cause i primed with udpp. I also tried elf's cream duo in olive as a base on top of the udpp. I dont use falsies but i did apply my colossal's mascara from maybelline.. i've been using this for months i dont have a problem with it except at first the scent was a bit overwhelming...
