Overall I love this blush.

Pros: Wear time is amazing. Applies well, very smooth and pigmented. Product finely milled. Even though it's only 4grams little goes a long way, perfect for tan complexion but can work for all skin tones

Cons: pricey for average makeup lover/addict, packaging gets dirty easy

Rating:

Elf blush and bronzer duo in Fiji

Elf blush and bronzer duo in Fiji

Paid $3usd at http://www.eyeslipsface.com

I own the other three duos in this collection. This is the first matte duo. I wanted it immediately.

Pigmentation: if you are fair/light this duo will be really pigmented for you. For light use apply with a stipple brush or a very fluffy brush. Medium/tan skin tones this duo can work for everyday use. Applying with a dense blush brush is best suited e.g. Elf angled blush brush. The contour may be a bit light and you will need to build on the application but still great for everyday wear. Golden olive to dark skin tones will not appreciate this duo. The colors will not be flattering.
I found mixing bronzer and blush together and applying as a blush on my cheeks proved a very unique color.
Applies a bit patching on initial use. The more you use this product the patchy application goes. A bit powdery and chalky. Both appear to be warm toned.

Wear: I noticed after about 3 hours active wear my blush would fade a bit. After 5-6 hours I would have to reapply blush and bronzer.  If  I'm not that active and I am just in my office I get a full days wear will see fade later in the evening more like 6-8 hours wear.

Packaging: sleek easy to open, great size and mirror

Very inexpensive and great for those on a budget. It is in its true sense matte and I love that. I noticed after about 10 applications that I saw white balls of product in both blush and bronzer.

Would give this product a 4/5.

L.A. Colors Swirl lip gloss - Red Swirl Review and Swatch

Purchased at Dollar Tree ($1usd)

Simple packaging black cap, clear tube and product is red with a peachy silver swirl. Contains 0.22fl oz 6.6ml of product and has 24m of life. This product was Made in China and is Distributed by Beauty 21 Cosmetics, Inc.

When swatches one gets a frosty red color. It's a bit opaque in application. However very glossy and sticky in consistency.

Wear time is considerably long if one does not eat or if lips do not make contact with anything πŸ’‹πŸ’‹

Does not stain lips but the shimmer does linger a bit on the lips.

The scent is a plastic bubblegum scent. Feels cheap on the lips and has a weird pleasant at first but then cheap right after scent. I know that sounds weird but that's the best I can describe it. Feels really cheap on the lips. And feels really tacky as it wears off.

(Top: one application Bottom: three applications)

Rate this product 2/5

Little bit of product compared to other lip glosses purchased at the Dollar Tree. Scent is not the best. Feel on lips is not totally pleasant.

Would not repurchase or recommend.

Loreal Collection Exclusive by JLo - Jennifer's nude

Loreal Collection Exclusive by JLo - Jennifer's nude 370

Black packaging as against the gold ... I initially liked but then I realized it was getting really messy quickly to my dismay. So I'm not totally a fan about the packaging.

The scent is very typical of Loreal and I think it's quite pleasant. Those who don't love scented makeup may not like this product.

Such a gorgeous everyday color. Applies a bit sheer but it's buildable. It's very moisturizing so I think it's perfect to be worn with a lip pencil. No gloss is needed. It's not opaque or drying. No taste/flavor. Scent lingers.
Overall not a regret because this is definitely a lipstick I can use everyday for work.
I rate this product 4.4/5

Review: The Wet Brush

I was a tad bit skeptical about this brush when I was given it.  I had tried two detangling brushes prior to receiving this brush and neither lived up to the claim. However, i am always willing to try new products. I was rather anxious to receive this product.
This brush is said to have been specially formulated with IntelliFlex bristles and what they do is flex base on the need... I must say this brush is really intelligent!!! πŸ˜‰It brushes through your hair effortlessly while untangling all the knots without a tug or pull...it's almost magical. It's my new obsession....

Review: Santee Color pop palette

Santee Color Pop Palette

Cost: $12.95 at Pennywise Cosmetics Trinidad
This palette consist of 18 eyeshadows in a plastic compact. The shadows are of three finishes: you get matte, shimmer and glitter shadows.
In swatching this palette, the bright colors like the purple and the blush along with the greens are pretty pigmented. I had no hopes for this palette, I was attracted to it because of two reasons, one the colors looked so pretty and two I saw matte colors and i got excited :)
In swatching these shadows I realise that about 5 out of the 18 were not well pigmented. about 10 out of the 18 shadows were also chalky in nature. Some of the very pigmented colors did appear to be a bit chalky so one would definitely have to use a base.
Application: Like I said in swatching the shadows quite a few appeared to be quite chalky. One would definitely need to use primer and a base for these shadows.
Wear time: The wear time for these seem to be about 3-4 hours. I used a base and primer and did not get a long wear. I however went for a more neutral eye with just a pop of color, Did not use the really pigmented blue and purple.

I would rate this palette a 2.5 out of 5. It isn't something I would repurchase. However, there is still some sort of merit in some of the colors as its not all together bad. For the person who loves color, this palette would work well. for the person who is now starting out their collection, this palette would be a good addition.

Urban decay lip junkie and Mac Dazzleglass my new favs

So my new love with nude lips is to have shimmery glosses on my lips.. and i happen to pull out these two products:
  • Urban Decay lip junkie  in midnight cowboy
  • Mac dazzleglass in Rages to riches
OMG it was love at first sight all over again, at times I just dont know which I should use.  So I dropped the UD in this week's makeup basket ...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nACdwLneO5g
but goodness me... i still grab my Mac.. i absolutely love them.
Consistency: they are both tacky in nature and the wear time is amazing due to their tackiness.  I would eat and drink and these babies would still have evidence on my lips.. not meager.. but remains pretty intact. They do carry shimmer, but its not chunky and you do not feel the shimmer/glitters on your lips. You can an amazing shimmer that is rather natural looking..

The Urban Decay lip junkie wears a bit longer than the MAC and it has a cooling feel to it once applied to the lips.  After about a minute that sensation goes.  It says that its cools and plumps, but it does not do that for me.
They both have a gorgeous finish.  I am absolutely in love and will repurchase these.  I will search through my collection and see if I have any cheaper dupes if not when my Project Pan 300 is over I can try a couple cheaper brands that have the same color scheme and will report back on whether there are any cheaper dupes ...
Would I recommend...Absolutely!!!
Rate this product a 4.75 out of 5....

Everytime I wear these glosses I get lots of compliments..

Review: L.A. Girl Endless semi-permanent auto lip liner

This review is on the L.A. Girl Endless semi-permanent auto lip liner.  I own four in total Pink parfait, Nectar, True red, and Wine.  Cost at Wonderful World - $15ttd www.cherryculture.com $2.50usd. So they are quite inexpensive.  I picked up mine at Wonderful World.  I initially bought the pink parfait and true red to go along with a bright pink lipstick and a matte red lipstick.  My initially experience with these lip liners were that they were matte but rather drying on the lips. The wear was also amazing.. but they were still drying on the lips.  I decided to wear a lip balm before application that did work a bit better application wise but the wear wasn't as lasting as without the lip balm.  I then decided to blot lipbalm before use and apply the lipliners.  This method worked best.  After i enjoyed the use of these two I went in search for them and purchased Nectar and Wine.  I would like to have more... why.. because I love these. Their pigmentation is amazing, very opaque. They are absolutely amazing.  I like the fact that I dont need a sharpener and that they are auto liners.  I also like that the colors I have are matte, I am not sure if all are.  The wear time for these liners are about 6-8 hours even with eating.  Amazing!!  Because of their wear these can be worn for special occasions where you dont want to have to think about reapplying.  So for like active sports, weddings, or any formal occasions, even for carnival I would recommend the use of this lipliner.

I dont wear these alone, I always use a lipstick on top and this combo works amazing.

L-R Pink parfait, Nectar, True red, Wine

Pros: cost is amazing, quality is amazing, great wear, great pigmentation, packaging is convenient
Cons: can be a bit drying, one needs to apply a balm lightly before use, availability of product and range of colors

I would definitely rate this product 4.75
I would definitely recommend this product and repurchase.

Me Now mini lip and eye pencils swatches

I got these from Halener Rustique some from a GGB and got a bc of 12 for $25ttd. I gave a couple to friends and I have a couple more that I'm keeping for my sis. Here are swatches of my 6. I underestimated these cuties. They looked small and maybe even insignificant, but when used you will want the box of 12. On the first swatch they seemed hard and not pigmented, so I decided to sharpened them and swatch again. Omg!! The results wre different. I have never used orange as a lip color but I tried it and omg this orange pencil looked amazing on my lips. What I love was that it glided on and had a matte finish. It also has amazing staying power. Ive worn all three lip colors swatched in the pic below love love them.... I wore the gold and green pencils on my waterline amazing staying power. My only con is because it's so tiny my love affair will be short. May get a backup box of 12. At $25ttd a box you cannot go wrong. Definite recommendation.

Why some eyeshadows dont adhere to the eyelids....

I've gotten this question, of recent, a number of times.. so I've decided to share this information with you.
There can be a number of reasons but here are Four main reasons.. (feel free to leave a comment below sharing your secret :) )
1. Primer:  You need to use an eye primer - the elf eyelid primer does not work well with everyone for some people its a hit and others its a miss (not good) for me personally i used urban decay primer potion or too faced shadow insurance.. people generally always opt to try the cheaper ones first .. but investing in a good primer is ideal.. many times when i tell people about the higher-end brands they would inform me that they would see others using cheaper ones and it works.. its important to know that not all skin types will adapt to one product you may need to change your primer..
2. you may need a base like the NYX jumbo eye pencil or MAC's paint pots/shade sticks.. most shadows (and especially pigments) need something to stick to.. with the primer it just helps the lid to have a "flat" surface for your eyeshadows/pigments to go on.. it also helps with wrinkles and fine lines .. but with the eye base it creates a surface for the shadows/pigments to stick too
3. Lastly, it can be your brush.. if your brush bristles aren't firm and fluffy you will get a very sheer application the stiffer the bristles are packed not stiff to scratch but how dense they are pack together for example elf eyeshadow brush or mac's 239 brush bristles are densely packed and they give great pay off and helps to pack on eye color
4. Application of eyeshadow/pigment (thanks Maryam for reminding me) if you sweep the eyeshadow on to your lids you will sweep away the color if you pat the eyeshadow/pigment on it adheres to the base better..

My new love--palette

So this is my new love.. the elf warm black beauty book
contains 28 eyeshadows and 20 lip colors..

To be honest i've never liked lip palettes.. but this one is really nice very moiturizing with enough color payoff for me.. the bottom row on the lip side is pigmented.
the eyeshadows have three finishes, matte, satin, and shimmer/frost .. some of the mattes aren't pigmented and thats okay i didn't have much hopes for those as most companies including mac don't ever get those super pigmented.. but the color payoff was amazing in my opinion for the cost.. they were great ..

the above photo has swatches of the eyeshadows so you can see i used a Q-tip to do the swatches. I swatched a variety of finishes. honestly the ones that look a bit faint are the matte colors... but check out that RED its of a satin finish its one of the best reds i've ever encountered in my life.  The other red that i know is super pigmented is from Inglot. The red alone in this palette makes this palette a must have. This is super nice to travel with and its pigmented enough that you can take it :) and it has a really nice size mirror.
For those interested in purchasing this palette and you live in Trinidad you can check HalΓ©ner Rustique http://www.facebook.com/pages/Halener-Rustique/254990547873525
cost is $50ttd and you can also enter their blog giveaway to get the cool version to this palette (i haven't used that one as yet--review will come )
For those in the US you can check elf's page..www.eyeslipsface.com

Is this palette affordable?  for $50ttd or $5usd.. its amazing
Is this palette worth the buy.. oh yes it does the eyeshadows alone are worth the buy.. with that red...the browns are great too..Would i repurchase .. yes i would if and whenever it finishes :)
Would i recommend this palette.. oh yes i would.. i suggest you all go and get yourself one of these.. "go get you some!!"

Review: Rouane Lipsticks

Rouane lipsticks

Left to Right
Romance (coral with gold) and Sangria (Bold blue purple lippie but looks more like a red blue lipstick)

Review:
Cost is about $8ttd not expensive at all.. and can be purchased at Pennywise. Both colors look great on my hand but on my lips..... not so great. Well i guess my preference at this time is for nude lavender pink mauve kinda color :) but in my opinion neither color looks great on my lips. Texture... they are pretty moisturizing not hard at all easy to apply, and soft to the touch. they apply very smooth. on the left i did one swatch and on the right is two swatches they are very pigmented. For the cost i think they are great to help add to any collection. The color variety for this brand isn't that big and nudes are hard to find, i dont know if its because they are always sold out :) anyone else who is familiar with this brand please let me know if there are nude colors.. i would love to tried out some new colors.
The packaging is pretty cheap but nothing horrible to work with..
Would i repurchase.. yes and no yes i would repurchase this brand .. and no i wont repurchase these colors... the Romance color is a coral color and that is the color for spring and summer this year.. but somehow it does not work with me..

Products I regret buying

So I just watched a video on youtube and the person was saying products they regretted buying and i thought oh my i recently went through my collection and took out somethings I thought to myself I should not have bought.  So here is my January list of products I regretted buying.  Most of these items were either bought this month or last month (december 2010)
  1. Profound Eyeliner waterproof in black:  when i saw this liner i fell in love with the richness of the black from the liner i tested it out at the store and was "wowed-out!!" but when i bought it home to use it, i wasn't wowed out again :( yes the blackness of the liner is really true its not a dead black its really vibrant, but it takes longer than most liquid liners to dry so if you're in a hurry its a no no... then i noticed after an hour of wearing it my eyelids left itchy and after a while i couldn't help but itch them :) and boy did i get a realization. the liner started "flaking" off well more or less i could have peeled the liner off my lid....omg such a disappointment :( Cost $18 at Wonderful World..
  2. Klean Color waterproof mascara in black, i saw a review on Facebook about this mascara and i thought why not try it out the person did rave about it.  Well it is waterproof tested it during my Christmas vacation, but i have sensitive eyes and omg my eyes would burn with this mascara, i thought at first that maybe i had something in my eyes, but then i realise everytime i wore this mascara my eyes be irritated and have a burning sensation.. $15 at Wonderful World (i think its $15 or $12)
  3. Santee Liquid eyeliner and pencil eye liner.  I saw this at pennywise and I thought i should give it a try as it seemed something worthwhile to test.  but its a disappointment the pencil eye liner is a dull black and the liquid liner is a true black but has an awful scent and takes longer than the Profound liner to dry, i remember counting up to 60 seconds and it wasn't dried.  the tip is also a bit flimsy also.  Cost $9.95 at Pennywise.
  4. Elf All over cover stick, in Rosey Beige.  The color was a problem and the stick is soft.. it does not blend well on my skin and i just dont like it :) $1US at www.eyeslipsface.com
  5. Elf eyebrow Treat and Tame in medium:  I was hoping this product would work for me, i bought the dark and that was way too dark and the medium is more of a reddish brown :( and it dries up very quickly i bearly have this product for about 3 weeks and its almost dried out already on the (Tame side) having tried it like 3 times. $3US at www.eyeslipsface.com
  6. Wet n Wild lipstick in number 906D its more of a bright burgundy red color.  The color does not suit me but the consistency of this lipstick is really hard and dry.  It does not guild on your lips and you have to wear a lipgloss with it.  it dries out your lip also, so you need to wear a lipbalm with it. $2.99US at CVS
  7. Loreal HIP duo in Brazen.  I love my HIP i love most of the products from this line, but this particular duo is hard.. this has to be the bad product in the batch it was produced in.  i can't get the shadow to pick up on my brush i tried scraping it off but then again when i apply my brush it just glides over it bearly picking up any product.. and this is with both colors.. so disappointed.  I bought this one at Pennywise can't remember how much i paid for it...
  8. Sacha Fix-It spray Plus for Oily Skin - So my sister loves this product.. (not sure why) and I had the older Fix It from Sacha and hated it and then my sister asked me to purchase the new one for her .. and she told me it was  better than the first one... well guess what it isn't.. it just doesn't work for me.. i swear i spray on oil on my face because after a while my face gets so oily.  when i dont use the product my face does not get as oily as when I do use it.  New name, new packaging new price, same old product!!! $30TTD at Pennywise

So there are my 8 products I regret buying.. What in your recent or past purchases have you regret buying????
Remember to Follow and comment!!!

XOXOXO

Review: Neutral Starry Palette

So this is my review on the neutral Starry palette.  Please note that this is in my opinion.. no one asked or coerced me into saying anything in this review

Cost - $7.95TTD
Purchased - Pennywise, Trinidad and Tobago
Shadows in Palette - 6 different shades

Pros:
The consistency of these shadows are amazing.  They are soft and silky and very pigmented.  You do not need to pack on plenty of color as the shadows are truly pigmented.  They blend well and are not chalky.  They do leave a little fall out if you swatch your brush too many times in the shadow, so less is better. The swatches below were done with one swatch of product....

The packaging is great, its small and portable very easy to travel with not clumsy at all.  I took this on vacation with me and it fit really great in my makeup bag.  The packaging is black in color and is not tacky at all.  It comes with a small mirror that can be used.
Overall for the price, this palette is top notch.  Would definitely recommend this palette to anyone.  Its perfect to give as a gift, because its reasonable, but its not cheap.

The staying power is relatively good, but its great when you use a primer or a base. One day i had it on for almost 15 hours and it did not crease but it did fade a bit.

Cons:  The mirror that came with this palette is rather small, i have used it before and it works pretty good though.

This is truly a great product I just wish that Starry had more palettes with a larger variety of colors.

Review: Elf Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths

I've tried a number of makeup remover cleansing cloths and this one is by far the best. I've tried avon, neutrogena, clean and clear, mac, and some others I cannot remember at this time. I decided to purchase this product because I was very pleased with other ELF Studio line products, and my expectation for this product was pretty high. I must say that it did live up to my expectations. I use liquid foundation [full coverage], with concealer and finishing powder and the clothes took off this without much effort. It takes off waterproof mascara effortless. I am very please with this purchase. this product can be purchased from the Eyes Lips Face website http://eyeslipsface.com/ and specifically at this link http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/makeup_remover_cleansing_cloths its $3.00 US for 20 clothes. There are a number of codes that can be used to help buffer the shipping cost like winnerelf 50% off purchase of $15 or more or facebook for 50% off up to $15

Review: Suds-n-Sass Strawberry Taffy soap

So I've finished my Strawberry Taffy heart soap... it was made with shea butter and strawberry seeds as its additive. OMG i was in loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee I found myself lingering in my bathroom after my shower... I did not want to come out in the first place. It had a kola like scent not so much [in my opinion] a strawberry scent and my hubby was the one who said it smelt like the kola [so thats where i got that idea from].. i loved the strawberry seeds also... i gave my sister another soap that had the strawberry seeds in it and she said it was really nice....

This soap gave me like 5 washes.. and i mean i really used it. It lathered really well and when I rinsed, I noticed that my skin did not feel really dry and itchy... will definitely get this again...

Review: Lush's Big shampoo

I got this in a small jar with the hair kit. This is what the Lush US site has about BIG

"Lemon-lime margarita shampoo adds shine and body to fine hairThe difference between a hefty, healthy hairdo and a lot of limp, lackluster locks? It's this saucy, sassy, salty shampoo! BIG combines shine-enhancing citrus juices with the beautifying, hair-buffing impact of sea salt and genuine sea water for a body-building regimen your fine hair won't sweat over. Good things can come in small packages, but for body-boosting boom you can't beat BIG! ""

So i've tried this about three times... to be honest i love love it...it really helps with volume.. its not that dramatic but I have long straight hair and it really lacked body... i didn't realise it worked until i took a picture out and someone commented that my hair looked really nice and it looked like it had volume.. i had not put anything in it for volume except washing it with BIG.

After i got the compliment i decided to do a little research on the idea of sea salt, since I was told this is what give volume to hair in the BIG. Boy was i surprised when i realise ppl were bottling sea salt and making spritzers and jars full of sea salt scalp scrub or gel.

I decided to get my hand on some sea salt and maybe try this with my regular shampoo. I will add the sea salt to my regular shampoo and see if I will get volume to my hair. Other ingredients that are found in BIG that I could get my hands on are: organic lemon and lime juice, abd extra virgin coconut oil. So, I will add these to my regular shampoo and see if it'll work. I'll get back to you guys on this in about a week or two. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know... but definitely love the BIG, if my experiment does not work, I will surely go back to Lush and get myself a tub of BIG.
