I'm Back!!!!!

I am really back this time.  Work and school has kept me busy but things have settled down a bit and I can start blogging again.  Over the weekend I was in Boston, and at the Boston Logan Airport, American Airlines terminal, the DutyFree store had Urban Decay for 50% off.  They are discontinuing their sales of UD and so they were selling off their stock.  I got a few things, all the palettes were gone, their liners had like three colors, they had tonnes of shadows which at this time I regret not buying... after I made my purchase I kept saying I would go back, but then I ran late with my flight :( so I did not get to go back.  I will post that haul for you soon.  I also went to a CCO and bought a Clinique foundation, I have never used their foundation before.  I also got some stuff at Sally's and they were like 50% off, and lastly, I got some stuff from ELF.  I haven't really bought anything all year, and i've pretty much finished most of the items I had on my project 10 pan, and even finished other items too, so I thought why not splurge a bit.  So look out for a haul, I plan on doing a few reviews, and then I'll post some looks....So stay tuned....

Haul: CCO

I've been trying my very best not to purchase any makeup even for the Christmas holiday.  I'm really proud of myself because I did really well.  I was at a CCO [Orlando] last weekend and saw the eyeshadow palettes from this line
[mac+graphic+gardens.jpg]
I had to get one of the palettes so i choose Fresh Cut, I absolutely love it. The palette has

  • Floral Inc. - (Frost)
  • Sun-Shy - (Lustre)
  • Fresh Cut - (Veluxe Pearl)
  • Poppy Noir - (Velvet)
  • Bloomcycle - (Veluxe Pearl)
  • Part Peony - (Lustre)
  • #213SE brush
I haven't used it yet, but as soon as I do I will post a look.  I decided to pick up the shadestick in red velvet to use as a base with it.  Believe it or not that is all I bought.  I know that there are tonnes of negative review on shadesticks but i actually like them, since I travel a lot and they are travel friendly.  I will do some swatches later and post them.  Have a great weekend all!

I'm Back!!!

So again i was gone... and again I'm so sorrrryyyyy... Took a trip to New York came back sick when I thought i was recovering, I got sick again.. but great news I've decided to eat healthier, exercise and rest more :) So while i was missing in action I made a few changes on things... I added more things to my project 10 pan, started exercising, started eating more fruits and veggies, started drinking lots and lots more [note i said more :)] water, and well the results.. .. ahhh.. well I think its way too soon to conclude..

So recently I've tried to be conscious of my weight. I am currently gaining!! I am also looking at living a healthy lifestyle, which includes a combination of things that seem to me to be what can help me become healthy.  They include: eating the right foods at the right time :) [this is so important I thought it was only about eating the right foods.. but then there are certain things you just dont eat in the night and they are healthy... so its all about timing too], doing appropriate exercises [i thought exercise was exercise... but of course I have target areas I want to lose weight.. :)], getting enough rest per day [way too hard for me but trying.. even if its some cat naps..], thinking positive [oh this goes a long way... thinking healthy thoughts, smiling--as much as I can.. helps with those wrinkles .. lol, reading healthy things], working [yes its important to work ... how can one rest if one does not work.. well in my opinion], play and laugh [its always important to have good laughes during the day .. its healthy come on dont you enjoy a good laugh :) and yes playing is good.. its music for your
childish soul :) ], reading, and for me spending time with those who mean the most to me [God is included here]

In reading the October 2009 issue of women's health i found some really fascinating information that I thought I'll share with you.  First off for those of you who love to drink RedBull energy drink you need to monitor your intake. It is said that research shows that one a day is not harmful but more than once a day can cause a number of complications such as elevated blood pressue, insomnia, stomach irritation and overloading can lead to heart palpitations and seizures. When drinking these energy drinks one also has to be careful as to how much of other caffeinated drinks one intakes. Another interesting fact I came across was why women have intense cravings for sweets on days just before their periods. this is
because when the estrogen level drops there is an increase in mood swings. sweets goodies then to give us that boost of "happy feelings". It is recommended though that when taking these sweet treats that you increase fiber in your diet. estrogen attaches itself to fiber the magazine quoted and when it does so it [estrogen] exits the body as waste, so the more you eat the lower your overall hormone levels.

Well food for thought right!  Let me know what you guys think.. or are thinking...

Project 5 pan extended to 7 :)

So I have two additions to my Project 5 pan (P5P) :) I initially thought I would not have enough items to make 10 pans but it so happens that I may very well end up with 10 pans.  However, right now I am only adding two items, my ELF blush and contour powder and my Mac full coverage foundation [which i use many times as concealer...] After I made the post about P5P the next use of my blush and contour duo i hit pan on the blush side... and then i hit pan on the foundation a while back but couldn't find it when i was doing the post.. so here are my two additions

Haul: Sephora...Stila products

I had this haul to post about a month back, Sephora has a special with these two Stila products
This set contains:

- 0.28 oz Stila Sun Bronzing Powder SPF 15 in Shade 2 (sheer warm matte bronze)

- 0.317 oz Stila Illuminating Finishing Powder in Gold (light golden champagne sheen)

I haven't tried these as yet but as soon as I do I will do a review..
This is how the packaging looks...

FOTD: Gracie

The look is not called Gracie, however, that is the name of the "model" [who happens to be my lovely cousin].  She just visited and I decided to give her a face makeover :) I did not get to take a pic of her before look but she does not wear makeup often, and prefers to look natural.  She has major discoloration on her face, I had to use four different shades of foundation on your face along with three different shades of concealer.  She wanted her eyes to be very simple.. Most of the products used were from NYX [foundation, finishing, concealer, setting powder, eyeshadow, lip liner] and ELF's Studio line [blush and contour, complexion perfection, warm bronzer, mascara].  Brushes used [both face and eyes] were all from ELF...so here is the look I created..

I kept begging her to smile, but she was afraid to show teeth :) I plan to bring her over again and try a few more looks, I gave her a few products to use on her face to try help with the multiple discoloration.

EOTD: October 6, 2009

So on Tuesday October 6, I decided to pull out my Sacha's neutral palette and start using it again... I will post pics of the palette asap and show swatches and give a review.  My friend and co-makeup junkie Nikkita :) http://makeupbynikitam.blogspot.com/ also plans on doing a review on this palette so you guys look out for the two reviews... but this is the look i got.. again please excuse my eyebrows.. i'm really playing around with it, growing it .. waxing.. growing.., because i have not found a "style" that i would love to keep.. so until then i have to keep growing it out and trying again.. so anyways off to the look :)

Let me know what you think...

All colors used can be found in the 14 pan palette

EOTD: last friday October 2, 2009

know the title sounds confusing to the sense that it says Eye of the day :) well this look that i'm sharing was a  look I did last friday, i got sooooooooo many compliments that when I reached home i decided to take pics... which was like 5-6 hours after application.  I basically used pigments i bought online from ebay [you can view that haul and see swatches of the pigments here: http://sweetzrv.blogspot.com/2009/07/swatches-of-ebay-pigments.html ]  I did not pay much for these pigments, but I was really impressed with their quality. this is the look i got.. i used my regular mascara from maybelline and my black ultra liner from avon.

EOTD: smokey blue...

So this is my first attempt at a smokey look.  To be honest i always felt that  the smokey look did not look good on me.  I felt i looked like someone punched me in the eye :)  however this is my attempt.  I used many colors from my novel twist cool palette

At first i felt like I was not getting anywhere..since I never did a smokey eye before I was rather apprehensive... but this was what i ended up with.. one of my major challenges was on how dark to go.. i did not a too smoked out eye :) please let me know what you think... also I took the pics like 4 hours after I applied.. so excuse the rest of my face i was really tired...
